Executive Summary & Key Takeaways

**Summary:** Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2021/269, adopted on December 4, 2020, amends Delegated Regulation (EU) 2020/427 concerning the application date of amendments to detailed production rules for organic products, as outlined in Annex II of Regulation (EU) 2018/848. This adjustment is necessitated by the postponement of Regulation (EU) 2018/848's application date due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as enacted by Regulation (EU) 2020/1693. The core amendment alters Article 2 of Delegated Regulation (EU) 2020/427, replacing the existing second paragraph with the statement: "It shall apply from 1 January 2022." This Regulation (EU) 2021/269 entered into force upon its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union and applies from January 1, 2021.
