regards the nomenclature for the dimensions and codes for the types of intervention for the ERDF,
the ESF+, the Cohesion Fund and the JTF
THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION,
Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union,
Having regard to Regulation (EU) 2021/1060 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 24 June 2021 laying down
common provisions on the European Regional Development Fund, the European Social Fund Plus, the Cohesion Fund, the
Just Transition Fund and the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund and financial rules for those and for the
Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund, the Internal Security Fund and the Instrument for Financial Support for Border
Management and Visa Policy(1), and in particular Article 113 thereof,
Whereas:
(1) Pursuant to Article 22(3), point (d)(viii) of Regulation (EU) 2021/1060, each programme supported by the European
Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+), the Cohesion Fund and the Just Transition
Fund (JTF) is to set out the types of intervention for each specific objective included in the programme. This is to
enable Member States to submit to the Commission consistent information on the programmed use, the cumulative
allocation and expenditure of these Funds by type of intervention and the number of operations throughout the
programming period. This is to enable the Commission to inform the other Union institutions and citizens of the
Union in an appropriate manner about the use of the Funds.
(2) In accordance with Article 22(5) of Regulation (EU) 2021/1060, Annex I to that Regulation sets out the
nomenclature for the types of intervention for the ERDF, the ESF+, the Cohesion Fund and the JTF.
(3) Regulation (EU) 2025/1914 of the European Parliament and of the Council(2) introduced additional specific
objectives for support from the ERDF, the Cohesion Fund and JTF.
(4) The new specific objectives introduced by Regulation (EU) 2025/1914 cover investments aimed at boosting the EU’s
competitiveness, strategic autonomy, territorial and social cohesion, resilience and preparedness. More specifically,
the new specific objectives provide the possibility for supporting investments enhancing EU dual use and defence
capabilities to address geopolitical challenges as well as investments in energy interconnectors and protection of
critical energy infrastructure, aimed at increasing the EU resilience and preparedness for any potential adverse
climate- and non-climate-related events.

(5) Due to the addition of the new specific objectives and to enable the Member States to submit to the Commission
consistent information on the programmed use of the Funds under these new specific objectives, the existing list of
types of interventions is to be complemented with a limited number of additional relevant intervention fields.
(6) Therefore, Annex I to Regulation (EU) 2021/1060 is to be amended accordingly,
HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION:
Article 1
1. In Table 1 of Annex I to Regulation (EU) 2021/1060, the following intervention fields are added:

2. In Table 1 of Annex I to Regulation (EU) 2021/1060, intervention field 145a is replaced by the following:

3. In Table 6 of Annex I to Regulation (EU) 2021/1060, row 11 is replaced by the following:

Article 2
This Regulation shall enter into force on the day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.
This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States.
