THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION,
Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union,
Having regard to Regulation (EU) 2018/1139 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 4 July 2018on common
rules in the field of civil aviation and establishing a European Union Aviation Safety Agency, and amending Regulations
(EC) No 2111/2005, (EC) No 1008/2008, (EU) No 996/2010, (EU) No 376/2014 and Directives 2014/30/EU
and 2014/53/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council, and repealing Regulations (EC) No 552/2004 and (EC)
No 216/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council and Council Regulation (EEC) No 3922/91(1), and in
particular Articles 23(1) and 27(1) thereof,
Whereas:
(1) The German language version of Annex I (Part-FCL) to Commission Regulation (EU) No 1178/2011(2)contains an
error in the definition of ‘single-pilot aircraft’ in subpart A, point FCL.010 as regards helicopters, airships and
powered lift aircraft. The error introduced by Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/2227(3)affects the
substance of the provision.
(2) The Maltese and Slovenian language versions of Annex I (Part-FCL) to Regulation (EU) No 1178/2011 contain an
error in Appendix 6, Section B, point 8.2, thereof as regards the amount of training required in an IR(H) course, if
the participant holds an IR(A). The error, introduced by Commission Regulation (EU) No 245/2014(4), affects the
substance of the provision.
(3) The German, Maltese and Slovenian language versions of Regulation (EU) No 1178/2011 should therefore be
corrected accordingly. The other language versions are not affected.
(4) The measures provided for in this Regulation are in accordance with the opinion of the committee referred to in
Article 65 of Regulation (EC) No 216/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council(5), which was delivered
prior to the adoption of Regulation (EU) No 245/2014, as well as with the opinion of the committee referred to in
Article 127 of Regulation (EU) 2018/1139, which was delivered prior to the adoption of Implementing Regulation
(EU) 2021/2227,
