Council Decision (CFSP) 2020/906 of 29 June 2020 amending Decision (CFSP) 2019/615 on Union support for activities leading up to the 2020 Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT)
**Summary:**
Council Decision CFSP 2020/906, adopted on June 29, 2020, amends Decision CFSP 2019/615 regarding Union support for activities leading up to the 2020 Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT). The amendment extends the implementation period of Decision CFSP 2019/615 until April 16, 2021. This extension was requested by the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs due to disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, which temporarily suspended activities under Decision CFSP 2019/615. The continuation of these activities will be performed without any additional financial implications. Article 5(2) of Decision CFSP 2019/615 is replaced, stipulating that the decision will expire 24 months after the financing agreement is concluded or six months after adoption if no financing agreement is concluded within that period. The decision entered into force on June 29, 2020.
