Official Journal EN of the European Union L series 2025/943 21.5.2025 COUNCIL DECISION (CFSP) 2025/943 of 20 May 2025 amending Decision (CFSP) 2023/855 on a European Union Partnership Mission in Moldova (EUPM Moldova) THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION, Having regard to the Treaty on European Union, and in particular Articles 42(4) and 43(2) thereof, Having regard to the proposal from the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Whereas: (1) On 24 April 2023, the Council adopted Decision (CFSP) 2023/855(1), which established a European Union Partnership Mission in Moldova (EUPM Moldova) for a period of two years from the launch of the Mission. (2) On 22 May 2023, the Council adopted Decision (CFSP) 2023/993(2)which launched EUPM Moldova and gave the mission a financial reference amount for the period from 24 April 2023 until 21 May 2025. (3) In the context of the Strategic Review of EUPM Moldova, the Political and Security Committee (PSC) agreed that EUPM Moldova should be extended until 31 May 2027. Furthermore, the PSC agreed that EUPM Moldova should increase the provision of strategic advice to the Moldovan authorities in the security sector and that its Project Cell should focus on projects in line with the strategic advice provided by EUPM Moldova under its mandate. (4) Decision (CFSP) 2023/855 should therefore be amended accordingly.
