COUNCIL DECISION (CFSP) 2026/1346
of 15 June 2026
amending Decision (CFSP) 2024/1980 on an assistance measure under the European Peace Facility to
support the Beninese Armed Forces with military equipment designed to deliver lethal force
THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION,
Having regard to the Treaty on European Union, and in particular Article 28(1) and Article 41(2) thereof,
Having regard to the proposal from the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy,
Whereas:
(1) On 15 July 2024, the Council adopted Decision (CFSP) 2024/1980(1), which established an assistance measure
under the European Peace Facility to support the Beninese Armed Forces with military equipment designed to deliver
lethal force.
(2) The full implementation of the planned support to the Beninese Armed Forces will not be completed until after the
end of the implementation period of Decision (CFSP) 2024/1980. That period should therefore be extended by
six months from 15 July 2026 to 15 January 2027.
(3) Decision (CFSP) 2024/1980 should therefore be amended accordingly,
HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:
Article 1
In Article 1 of Decision (CFSP) 2024/1980, paragraph 4 is replaced by the following:
‘4. The duration of the assistance measure shall be 30 months from the date of adoption of this Decision.’.
Article 2
This Decision shall enter into force on the date of its adoption.
