Official Journal EN of the European Union L series 2026/2136 23.9.2026 COUNCIL DECISION (CFSP) 2026/2136 of 22 September 2026 amending Decision (CFSP) 2025/1554 on an assistance measure under the European Peace Facility to support the Djibouti Armed Forces THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION, Having regard to the Treaty on European Union, and in particular Article 28(1) and Article 41(2) thereof, Having regard to the proposal from the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy,
Whereas:
(1) On 25 July 2025 the Council adopted Decision (CFSP) 2025/1554(1) in order to establish an assistance measure under the European Peace Facility (EPF) with the objective of strengthening the capacities of Djibouti Armed Forces.
(2) On 28 May 2026, the Political and Security Committee supported the intended reallocation of available funds in 2026, including the reallocation of EUR 10 000 000 from the funds available within the assistance measures pillar of the EPF in favour of Djibouti in the context of the Red Sea crisis. That increase in the financial contribution should be accompanied by a corresponding extension of the implementation period for the assistance measure.
(3) Decision (CFSP) 2025/1554 should therefore be amended accordingly,
HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:
Article 1 Decision (CFSP) 2025/1554 is amended as follows:
(1) in Article 1, paragraph 4 is replaced by the following: ‘4. The duration of the assistance measure shall be 54 months from the date of adoption of this Decision.’;
(2) in Article 2, paragraph 1 is replaced by the following: ‘1. The financial reference amount intended to cover the expenditure related to the assistance measure shall be EUR 20 000 000.’.
