COUNCIL DECISION (EU) 2024/2573
of 23 September 2024
appointing three members and seven alternate members, proposed by the Republic of Bulgaria, of
the Committee of the Regions
THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION,
Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, and in particular Article 305 thereof,
Having regard to Council Decision (EU) 2019/852 of 21 May 2019 determining the composition of the Committee of the
Regions (1),
Having regard to the proposals of the Bulgarian Government,
Whereas:
(1) Pursuant to Article 300(3) of the Treaty, the Committee of the Regions is to consist of representatives of regional and
local bodies who either hold a regional or local authority electoral mandate or are politically accountable to an
elected assembly.
(2) On 30 July 2020, the Council adopted Decision (EU) 2020/1153 (2), appointing members and alternate members of
the Committee of the Regions.
(3) Three members' seats on the Committee of the Regions have become vacant following the resignations of Mr Ivan
ALEKSIEV and Mr Emil IVANOV and the end of the national mandate on the basis of which Ms Malina EDREVA
AUDOIN was proposed for appointment.
(4) Seven alternate members’ seats on the Committee of the Regions have become vacant following the resignations of
Mr Daud ALYAOVLU, Ms Sebihan MEHMED and Ms Ivanka NIKOLOVA and the end of the national mandates on
the basis of which Mr Dobromir DOBREV, Ms Dimitranka KAMENOVA, Ms Cornelia MARINOVA and Mr Rumen
PEHLIVANOV were proposed for appointment.
(5) The Bulgarian Government has proposed the following representatives of local bodies who hold a local authority
electoral mandate as members of the Committee of the Regions for the remainder of the current term of office,
which runs until 25 January 2025: Mr Dоbrin DOBREV, Кмет на община Разград (Mayor of Razgrad Municipality),
Mr Dimitar NIKOLOV, Кмет на община Бургас (Mayor of Burgas Municipality), and Ms Tsvetelina
SIMEONOVA-ZARKIN, Общински съветник в Столичен общински съвет (Municipal Councillor in Sofia Municipal
Council).
(6) The Bulgarian Government has proposed the following representatives of local bodies who hold a local authority
electoral mandate as alternate members of the Committee of the Regions for the remainder of the current term of
office, which runs until 25 January 2025: Mr Isa BESOOLU, Кмет на община Павел баня (Mayor of Pavel Banya
Municipality), Mr Ivo DIMOV, Кмет на община Димитровград (Mayor of Dimitrovgrad Municipality), Mr Angel
DZHORGOV, Кмет на община Самоков (Mayor of Samokov Municipality), Mr Ivan GAYKOV, Кмет на община
Приморско (Mayor of Primorsko Municipality), Mr Blagomir KOTSEV, Кмет на община Варна (Mayor of Varna
Municipality), Mr Dencho MINEV, Кмет на община Трявна (Mayor of Tryavna Municipality), and Mr Adnan
YALDAZ, Кмет на община Стамболово (Mayor of Stambolovo Municipality),
HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:
Article 1
The following representatives of local bodies who hold an electoral mandate are hereby appointed to the Committee of the
Regions for the remainder of the current term of office, which runs until 25 January 2025:
(a) as members:
— Mr Dоbrin DOBREV, Кмет на община Разград (Mayor of Razgrad Municipality),

(b) as alternate members:

Article 2
This Decision shall enter into force on the date of its adoption.
