Council Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/1940 of 22 September 2025 implements Regulation (EU) 2015/1755 concerning restrictive measures regarding the situation in Burundi. Annex I to Regulation (EU) 2015/1755 is amended in accordance with the Annex to this Regulation. Specifically, the entry for Mathias-Joseph NIYONZIMA is deleted from the list of natural and legal persons, entities and bodies subject to restrictive measures referred to in Article 2. The regulation enters into force on the day following its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union. It is binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States. of 22 September 2025
implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/1755 concerning restrictive measures in view of the situation
in Burundi
THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION,
Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union,
Having regard to Council Regulation (EU) 2015/1755 of 1 October 2015 concerning restrictive measures in view of the
situation in Burundi(1), and in particular Article 13(4) thereof,
Having regard to the proposal from the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy,
Whereas:
(1) On 1 October 2015, the Council adopted Regulation (EU) 2015/1755.
(2) On the basis of a review of Regulation (EU) 2015/1755 by the Council, the entry concerning one person included in
the list of natural and legal persons, entities and bodies subject to restrictive measures, as set out in Annex I to that
Regulation, should be deleted.
(3) Annex I to Regulation (EU) 2015/1755 should therefore be amended accordingly,
HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION:
Article 1
Annex I to Regulation (EU) 2015/1755 is amended in accordance with the Annex to this Regulation.
Article 2
This Regulation shall enter into force on the day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.
This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States.
