OF THE JOINT COMMITTEE of 5 June 2024 on the amendment to Annex II to the Agreement between the European Union and Iceland on the protection of geographical indication for agricultural products and foodstuffs [2024/2005] THE JOINT COMMITTEE, Having regard to the Agreement between the European Union and Iceland on the protection of geographical indications for agricultural products and foodstuffs(1)(hereinafter referred to as ‘the Agreement’), and in particular Article 3 thereof,

Whereas:

(1) Pursuant to Article 10(3) of the Agreement, the Joint Committee may amend Annex II to the Agreement as regards geographical indications.

(2) The Joint Committee examined the list of newly registered geographical indications proposed for inclusion in Annex II to the Agreement, as well as proposed corrections and removals of names that are currently listed in that Annex but are no longer protected in the Parties.

(3) The Parties completed their examination and the internal procedures necessary for adoption of the Decision by the Joint Committee under the Agreement, Annex II to the Agreement should therefore be amended,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1 Annex II to the Agreement between the European Union and Iceland on the protection of geographical indication for agricultural products and foodstuffs is replaced by the text in the Annex to this Decision.

Article 2 This Decision shall enter into force on the date of its adoption.
