Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 108/2026 of 20 March 2026 amending Annex XXI (Statistics) to the EEA Agreement [2026/1300]

Official Journal EN of the European Union L series 2026/1300 25.6.2026 DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEENo 108/2026 of 20 March 2026 amending Annex XXI (Statistics) to the EEA Agreement [2026/1300] THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE, Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (“the EEA Agreement”), and in particular Article 98 thereof, Whereas: (1) Regulation (EU) 2020/851 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 June 2020 amending Regulation (EC) No 862/2007 on Community statistics on migration and international protection(1)is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement. (2) Annex XXI to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly, HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION: Article 1 The following is added in point 18a (Regulation (EC) No 862/2007 of the European Parliament and of the Council) of Annex XXI to the EEA Agreement: ‘, as amended by: — 32020 R 0851: Regulation (EU) 2020/851 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 June 2020 (OJ L 198, 22.6.2020, p. 1). The provisions of the Regulation shall, for the purposes of this Agreement, be read with the following adaptations: (a) In Article 11a(3), as regards the EFTA States, the words “by 13 October 2020 or within three months of the date of entry into force of the implementing act concerned” are replaced by the words “within three months of the date of entry into force of the Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 108/2026 of 20 March 2026, or within three months of the date of entry into force of the Decision of the EEA Joint Committee incorporating the implementing act concerned into the EEA Agreement”.’ Article 2 The text of Regulation (EU) 2020/851 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union, shall be authentic. Article 3 This Decision shall enter into force on 21 March 2026, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made(*). (1) OJ L 198, 22.6.2020, p. 1.
