DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEENo 140/2026
of 30 April 2026
amending Annex IX (Financial services) to the EEA Agreement [2026/1513]
THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,
Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (“the EEA Agreement”), and in particular Article 98
thereof,
Whereas:
(1) Regulation (EU) 2022/2036 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 19 October 2022 amending
Regulation (EU) No 575/2013 and Directive 2014/59/EU as regards the prudential treatment of global systemically
important institutions with a multiple-point-of-entry resolution strategy and methods for the indirect subscription
of instruments eligible for meeting the minimum requirement for own funds and eligible liabilities(1) is to be
incorporated into the EEA Agreement.
(2) Annex IX to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly,
HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:
Article 1
The following indent is added in points 14a (Regulation (EU) No 575/2013) and 19b (Directive 2014/59/EU) of Annex IX
to the EEA Agreement:
‘— 32022 R 2036: Regulation (EU) 2022/2036 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 19 October 2022
(OJ L 275, 25.10.2022, p.1).’
Article 2
The text of Regulation (EU) 2022/2036 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement
to the Official Journal of the European Union, shall be authentic.
Article 3
This Decision shall enter into force on 1 May 2026, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA
Agreement have been made(*).
Article 4
This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European
Union.
