Official Journal EN of the European Union L series 2024/271 8.2.2024 DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 224/2021 of 9 July 2021 amending Protocol 31 to the EEA Agreement, on cooperation in specific fields outside the four freedoms [2024/271] THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE, Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (“the EEA Agreement”), and in particular Articles 86 and 98 thereof, Whereas: (1) It is appropriate to extend the cooperation of the Contracting Parties to the EEA Agreement to include Decision (EU) 2020/1782 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 25 November 2020 amending Decision No 573/2014/EU on enhanced cooperation between Public Employment Services (PES)(1). (2) Protocol 31 to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended in order to allow for this extended cooperation to take place, HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION: Article 1 The following is added in the first indent (Decision No 573/2014/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council) of Article 15(9) of Protocol 31 to the EEA Agreement: ‘, as amended by: — 32020 D 1782: Decision (EU) 2020/1782 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 25 November 2020 (OJ L 400, 30.11.2020, p. 7).’ Article 2 This Decision shall enter into force on the day following the last notification under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement*.
