DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 58/2023

amending Annex IX (Financial services) to the EEA Agreement [2023/2366]
THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,
Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (“the EEA Agreement”), and in particular Article 98
thereof,
Whereas:

Whereas:
(1) Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2022/1683 of 28 September 2022on the equivalence of the regulatory framework for central counterparties in Colombia to the requirements of Regulation (EU) No 648/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council(1)is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.
(2) Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2022/1684 of 28 September 2022on the equivalence of the regulatory framework for central counterparties in Taiwan to Regulation (EU) No 648/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards Futures Clearing Houses under the supervision of the Financial Supervisory Commission(2)is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.
(3) Annex IX to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly,
HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:
Article 1 The following points are inserted after point 31bcazf (Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/1108) of Annex IX
to the EEA Agreement: ‘31bcazm. 32022 D 1683: Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2022/1683 of 28 September 2022 on the equivalence of the regulatory framework for central counterparties in Colombia to the requirements of Regulation (EU) No 648/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council (OJ L 252, 30.9.2022, p. 78).
31bcazn. 32022 D 1684: Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2022/1684 of 28 September 2022 on the equivalence of the regulatory framework for central counterparties in Taiwan to Regulation (EU) No 648/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards Futures Clearing Houses under the supervision of the Financial Supervisory Commission (OJ L 252, 30.9.2022, p. 82).’ Article 2 The texts of Implementing Decisions (EU) 2022/1683 and (EU) 2022/1684 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union, shall be authentic.
Article 3 This Decision shall enter into force on 18 March 2023, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made*.
