Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 87/2026 of 20 March 2026 amending Annex II (Technical regulations, standards, testing and certification) to the EEA Agreement [2026/1292]

Official Journal EN of the European Union L series 2026/1292 25.6.2026 DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEENo 87/2026 of 20 March 2026 amending Annex II (Technical regulations, standards, testing and certification) to the EEA Agreement [2026/1292] THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE, Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (“the EEA Agreement”), and in particular Article 98 thereof, Whereas: (1) Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/1922 of 12 July 2024 setting out the template for the collection by the Member States of the data and the information referred to in Article 6(5), points (a) to (d), of Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 of the European Parliament and of the Council(1)is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement. (2) Pursuant to Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 171/2025 of 11 July 2025(2), incorporating Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 into the EEA Agreement, Liechtenstein is exempted from collecting and providing the data and information referred to in Article 6(5) of that Regulation. Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/1922 shall therefore not apply to Liechtenstein. (3) Annex II to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly, HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION: Article 1 The following is inserted after point 1j (Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 of the European Parliament and of the Council) of Chapter XXIV of Annex II to the EEA Agreement: ‘1ja. 32024 R 1922: Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/1922 of 12 July 2024 setting out the template for the collection by the Member States of the data and the information referred to in Article 6(5), points (a) to (d), of Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 of the European Parliament and of the Council (OJ L, 2024/1922, 15.7.2024). The provisions of the Regulation shall, for the purposes of this Agreement, be read with the following adaptation: In Article 1, the following paragraph is added: “This Regulation shall not apply to Liechtenstein.”’ Article 2 The text of Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/1922 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union, shall be authentic. Article 3 This Decision shall enter into force on 21 March 2026, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made(*).
