Official Journal EN of the European Union L series 2024/1032 2.4.2024 POLITICAL AND SECURITY COMMITTEE DECISION (CFSP) 2024/1032 of 26 March 2024 on the appointment of the Head of Mission of the European Union Monitoring Mission in Georgia (EUMM Georgia) (EUMM GEORGIA/1/2024) THE POLITICAL AND SECURITY COMMITTEE, Having regard to the Treaty on European Union, and in particular Article 38, third paragraph, thereof, Having regard to Council Decision 2010/452/CFSP of 12 August 2010 on the European Union Monitoring Mission in Georgia, EUMM Georgia(1), and in particular Article 10(1) thereof, Whereas: (1) Pursuant to Decision 2010/452/CFSP, the Political and Security Committee (PSC) is authorised, in accordance with Article 38, third paragraph, of the Treaty, to take the relevant decisions for the purpose of exercising the political control and strategic direction of the European Union Monitoring Mission in Georgia (EUMM Georgia), including the decision to appoint a Head of Mission. (2) On 25 November 2022, the Council adopted Decision (CFSP) 2022/2318(2), extending the mandate of EUMM Georgia until 14 December 2024. (3) On 31 January 2023, the PSC adopted Decision (CFSP) 2023/219(3), appointing Mr Dimitrios KARABALIS as Head of Mission of EUMM Georgia from 1 February 2023until 14 December 2023. (4) On 29 February 2024, the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy proposed the appointment of Ms Bettina BOUGHANI as Head of Mission of EUMM Georgia until 14 December 2024. (5) A decision on the appointment of Ms Bettina BOUGHANI as Head of Mission of EUMM Georgia from 1 April 2024 until 14 December 2024should therefore be taken, HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION: Article 1 Ms Bettina BOUGHANI is hereby appointed as Head of Mission of the European Union Monitoring Mission in Georgia (EUMM Georgia) from 1 April 2024until 14 December 2024.
