LD 158 LET 2025 Karnataka Government Secretariat, Vikasa Soudha, Bangalore, dated:10/09/2025 NOTIFICATION The draft of the following rules further to amend the Karnataka Shops and Commercial Establishments Rules, 1963, which the Government of Karnataka proposes to make in exercise of the powers conferred by section 40 of the Karnataka Shops and Commercial Establishment Act, 1961 (Karnataka Act 8 of 1962) is hereby published as required by sub-section (4) of section 40 of the said Act, for the information of all persons likely to be affected thereby and notice is hereby given that said draft will be taken into consideration after the expiry of thirty days from the date of its publication in the official Gazette. Any objection or suggestion which may be received by the State Government from any person with respect to the said draft before the expiry of the period specified above will be considered by the State Government. Objections or suggestions may be addressed to the Secretary to Government, Labour Department, Room No.414, 4th Floor, Vikasa Soudha, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Veedhi, Bengaluru-560 001. DRAFT RULES 1. Short title and commencement:-[1] These rules may be called the Karnataka Shops and Commercial Establishments (Amendment) Rules, 2025. Amendment of Rule 24:- In the Karnataka Shops and Commercial Establishments Rules, 1963, after rule 24, at the end the following proviso shall be inserted, namely:- “Provided that compliance under rule 24 is not required where every employer in his establishments employed less than ten employees.” By order and in the name of the Government of Karnataka, Suma.
