Whereas, the said Gazette was made available to the public on 19.06.2020. And whereas, no objection / suggestion have been received by the State Government. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 3 read with Section 8 of the Karnataka State Civil Services Act, 1978 (Karnataka Act 14 of 1990), the Government of Karnataka hereby makes the following rules, namely;R.N.I. Title and Commencement.-(1) These rules may be called the Karnataka Civil Services (Direct Recruitment by Competitive Examinations and Selection) (General) (Amendment) Rules, 2020. (2) They shall come into force from the date of their final publication in the official Gazette. 2. Amendment of Rule 2.- In the Karnataka Civil Services (Direct Recruitment by Competitive Examinations and Selection) (General) Rules, 2006 (hereinafter referred to as the said rules), in rule 2, in sub-rule (1), after the item (d), the following shall be inserted at the end, namely:- “(e) “Selection Authority” means save as otherwise provided in these rules such Authority as may be specified by notification by the Government for selection of candidates to a particular category of posts.” 3. Substitution of the Expression “Commission”.- In the said rules, except in rule 2, for the word “Commission”, wherever they occur the words “Commission or any other Selection Authority specified by the Government”, shall be substituted.
