(cid:315)(cid:175)ೇಷ (cid:170)ಾಜ(cid:205) ಪ(cid:294)(cid:206)(cid:144)ೆ ¨sÁU À – 4 06 2021( 15 1943) . 685 Part – IVA BENGALURU, TUESDAY, 06, JULY, 2021 ( ASHADHA, 15, SHAKAVARSHA, 1943) No. 685 ಅ(cid:8259)ಸೂಚ(cid:8292) IV (1)2 , “ ” , “ ”, . “(1 “ ”3 .” i i i “ ” i i i i i , “ ” A A GOVERNMENT OF KARNATAKA No. DPAR 179 SRR 2020 Karnataka Government Secretariat, Vidhana Soudha, Bangalore, Dated:06.07.2021 NOTIFICATION Whereas, the draft of the Karnataka Civil Services (General Recruitment) Rules, 1977, was published as required by clause (a) of sub-section (2) of section 3 read with section 8 of the Karnataka State Civil Services Act, 1978 (Karnataka Act 14 of 1990), in Notification No. DPAR 179 SRR 2020, dated 13.05.2021 in Part IVA (No.531) of the Karnataka Gazette Extra-ordinary dated 13th May 2021 inviting objections and suggestions from persons likely to be affected thereby within fifteen days from the date of publication of draft in the Official Gazette.4 Whereas, the said Gazette was made available to the public on 13th May 2021. And, whereas objections and suggestions received have been considered by the State Government. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 3 read with section 8 of the Karnataka State Civil Services Act, 1978 (Karnataka Act 14 of 1990), the Government of Karnataka makes the following rules, namely:- RULES 1. Title and Commencement: (1) These rules may be called The Karnataka Civil Services (General Recruitment) (Amendment) Rules, 2021. (2) They shall come into force from the date of their final publication in the Official Gazette. 2. Amendment of Rule 3.- In the Karnataka Civil Services (General Recruitment) Rules, 1977 (hereinafter referred to as the said rules) in Rule 3, in sub- rule (3), after the words, “or the qualifying examination”, the words and figures “subject to the maximum of 50 marks whichever is lower”, shall be inserted. 3. Amendment of Rule 9.- In sub-rule (1) of the rule 9 of the said rules after clause (1C) the following shall be inserted namely :- “(1D) Notwithstanding anything contained in the rules of recruitment specially made in respect of any service or post, in all direct recruitment one percentage of vacancies set apart for that method in each of the categories of General Merit, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and in each of the categories among Other Backward Classes shall, subject to any general instructions that may be issued by the Government regarding the manner of appointment, be filled from among transgender candidates: Provided that, every Appointing Authority shall provide a separate column of “Others” along with male gender and female gender in the application for recruitment to any category of Group-A, B, C or D posts for the convenience of transgender persons. The Recruitment Authority or the Appointing Authority shall not5 discriminate a transgender person while making selection of appointment to any category of post. Provided further that, if sufficient number of eligible transgender persons are not available, to the extent of one percent, the unfilled vacancies shall be filled by male or female candidates, as the case may be, belonging to the same category. Explanation : For the purpose of this sub-rule a Transgender Person shall have the same meaning as defined in Clause (k) of Section 2 of the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2019 (Central Act 40 of 2019).” 4. Amendment of Rule 16.- In rule 16 of the said rules, in clause (a) in sub- clause (ii),- i. the words “by transfer or”, shall be omitted; ii. the first proviso shall be omitted; and iii. in the second proviso the word “further”, shall be omitted; 5.
