## Report on Land Acquisition Policy for South East Central Railway Project, Chhattisgarh **1. Executive Summary:** This report analyzes a government notification regarding land acquisition for the construction of a fourth railway line between Dadhapara and Belha in Bilaspur District, Chhattisgarh, under the South East Central Railway project. The policy, based on Section 20A of the Railways Act, 1989, outlines the government's intention to acquire land for this public purpose and establishes a process for affected parties to raise objections. This report details the policy's objectives, key provisions, affected stakeholders, and inferred implementation aspects based solely on the provided text. **2. Introduction:** The purpose of this report is to provide an informative overview and analysis of a specific government notification concerning land acquisition for a railway project in Chhattisgarh. Policy Overview:** This is a new policy notification regarding land acquisition under Section 20A of the Railways Act, 1989. * **Core Objective(s):** The primary objective, as stated in the text, is to acquire land for the "public purpose" of constructing a fourth railway line between Dadhapara and Belha (9.20 Km) in Bilaspur District, Chhattisgarh, as part of the South East Central Railway project. **4. Background and Rationale:** Since this is a notification for land acquisition for a new railway line, the underlying issue appears to be the need to expand railway infrastructure in the Chhattisgarh region.
