NOTIFICATION Whereas the draft of the Karnataka State Administrative Services (Recruitment) (Amendment) Rules, 2024 was published as required by clause (a) of sub-section (2) of section 3 read with section 8 of the Karnataka State Civil Services Act, 1978 (Karnataka Act 14 of 1990), in Notification No. DPAR 47 SKM 2024, dated: 09.02.2024 in part IVA of the Karnataka Gazette Extraordinary No. 75, dated: 09.02.2024 inviting objections and suggestions from all persons likely to be effected thereby within seven days from the date of its publication in the official Gazette. And whereas the said Gazette was made available to public on 09.02.2024. And whereas no objections and suggestions received in this behalf by the Government. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 3 read with section 8 of the Karnataka State Civil Services Act, 1978 (Karnataka Act 14 of 1990), the Government of Karnataka hereby make the following rules, namely:- (1)2 RULES 1. Title and commencement.-(1) These rules may be called the Karnataka State Administrative Services (Recruitment) (Amendment) Rules, 2024. (2) They shall come into force from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. Amendment of the Schedule.- In theKarnataka State Administrative Services (Recruitment) Rules, 1957, in the Schedule,- (1) in the category of post of ‘KAS (super time scale)’, at serial number (a2),in column (4), the following shall be insertedat the end, namely:- “Provided that, as one time measure or six months from the date of commencement of the Karnataka State Administrative Services (Recruitment) (Amendment) Rules, 2024 whichever is earlier, for the process of promotion must have put in a total service of not less than ten years in the cadre of KAS (Junior Scale, Senior Scale and Selection Grade) of which not less than one year shall be in the cadre of KAS (Selection Grade). Note:- On completion of the onetime process or six months from the date of commencement of the Karnataka State Administrative Services (Recruitment) (Amendment) Rules, 2024 whichever is earlier for promotion to the post specified in column (2), the provisions of the Karnataka State Administrative Services (Recruitment) (Amendment) Rules, 2024 shall cease to operate.”; and (2) in the category of post of ‘KAS (selection Grade)’, at serial number (a3),in column (4), the following shall be inserted at the end, namely:- “Provided that, as one time measure or six months from the date of commencement of the Karnataka State Administrative Services (Recruitment) (Amendment) Rules, 2024 whichever is earlier, must have put in a total service of not less than seven years in the cadre of KAS (Senior Scale) and KAS Group-A (Junior Scale) of which not less than one year shall be in the cadre of KAS (Senior Scale)”.
