NOTIFICATION In exercise of the powers conferred by Section-3 and 4 of the Karnataka Municipal Corporations Act 1976, His Excellency, the Governor of Karnataka hereby propose to include some areas into the present City Municipal Corporation of Mysuru of Mysuru District to be notified as the “Larger Urban Area” as mentioned in Schedule “A” along with the boundaries mentioned in Schedule “B” and further to declare complete area as “Greater Mysuru City Corporation” and constitute the City Municipal Corporation to the said larger urban area with effect from the date of publishing this Notification in the Official Gazette for the purpose of administration and development having regard to: i. The population of such area is not less than three lakhs; ii. The density of population in such area is not less than three thousand inhabitants to one square kilo meter of area; iii. The revenue generated for local administration from such area from tax and non-tax sources in the year of the last preceding census is not less than rupees six crore per annum or a sum calculated at the rate of rupees two hundred per capita per annum, whichever is higher; iv. The percentage of employment in non-agricultural activities is not less than fifty per cent of the total employment. The notification is hereby published for the information of the Public. All the persons, who would like to file any objection/suggestion to this Notification are hereby required to submit the same with reasons in writing to the Director, Directorate of Municipal Administration, 9th Floor, V.V.Tower, Bengaluru within 30 days from publication of this Notification in the Official Gazette.
