The draft of the following rules further to amend the Karnataka Legislative
Council Secretariat (Recruitment & Conditions) Service Rules 2003, which the
Special Board of Karnataka Legislative Council Secretariat proposes to make in
exercise of the powers conferred by sub section (1) of the section 3 read with
section 8 of the Karnataka State Civil Services Act 1978 (Karnataka Act 14 of
1990)is hereby published as required by clause (a) of Sub section 2 of section 3 of
the said act for the information of all persons likely to be affected thereby and
notice is hereby given that the said draft will be taken into consideration after 15
days from the date of its publication in official gazette.
Any objections or suggestions which may be received by the Karnataka
Legislative Council Secretariat from any person with respect to the said draft
before the expiry of the period specified above will be considered by the Special
Board of the Karnataka Legislative Council Secretariat.
The objections and suggestions may be addressed to “The Secretary,
Karnataka Legislative Council Secretariat, Vidhana Soudha, Bengaluru”.
DRAFT RULES
1) Title and commencement: ‐ These Rules may be called Karnataka Legislative
Council Secretariat (Recruitment and conditions of service) (Tenth
Amendment)Rules, 2020.
2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the official
gazette.
3) Amendment of Schedule–I :‐
1. In the Karnataka Legislative Council Secretariat (Recruitment and conditions of
service) Rules 2003 in Schedule‐I in the entries relating to the category of post of

Secretary at Sl.No.1, in Col.No.5 clause a) for the words ”Joint Secretary” the words
“Additional Secretary” shall be substituted.
2. In the Karnataka Legislative Council Secretariat (Recruitment and conditions of
service) Rules 2003 in Schedule I in the entries relating to the category of post of
Secretary at Sl.No.1, in Col.No.6 clause C) for the words “Joint Secretary” the words
“Additional Secretary” shall be substituted.
3. The following entries shall be substituted at Sl.No.2 for the upgraded post of Joint
Secretary as Additional Secretary.
