**Summary:**
This Public Notice No. 8/2015-2020, issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, dated May 1, 2015, amends Appendix 4J of the Handbook of Procedures 2015-2020 concerning the export obligation period under Advance Authorizations.
The key change involves raw sugar imports. Specifically, a new entry (Sl. No. 9) is added to the table in Appendix 4J, stipulating an export obligation period of six months from the date of customs clearance for each raw sugar import consignment under the Advance Authorisation scheme.
This notice mandates a pre-import condition for raw sugar imports under the Advance Authorisation scheme. The effect of this notice is to reduce the export obligation period for raw sugar, from the date of customs clearance of each consignment, to six months.
This amendment is issued under the powers conferred by Para 1.03 of the Foreign Trade Policy 2015-2020, as amended.
The responsible authority is Director General of Foreign Trade.
