S.O. 669(E).—In exercise of powers conferred by Section 3 and Section 5 of Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, read with paragraph 1.02 and 2.01 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2023, as amended from time to time, the Central Government hereby revises the Policy Condition no.1 (III) under Chapter 87 of the ITC (HS) 2022, Schedule-1 (import Policy) with immediate effect as under:- Existing Policy condition Revised Policy Condition (III) Cars manufactured prior to 1st January, 1950 are free (lll) Cars classified as 'Vintage motor vehicles' under for import by Actual Users. Policy Condition (I) and (II) Explanation to sub-rule (1) of rule 81A of Chapter lllA of above shall not be applicable for these cars. However, Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989 as amended, are free such of the cars that would be plying on public roads will for Import by Actual Users. Policy Condition no. 1 (l) and continue to be subject to Central Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 1 (ll) of Chapter 87 of ITC HS 2022 shall not be applicable and Rules, 1989. for these vehicles. However, such of the cars that would be plying on public roads will continue to be subject to Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and rules made there under. Further, such imported cars shall comply with conditions laid down under Chapter lllA of Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989 as amended from time to time. Effect of the Notification: Classification of Vintage Motor Vehicles has been revised to align it with the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989 as amended.
