**Executive Summary**
This notification issued by the Delhi Medical Council on July 30, 2026, amends a previous notification dated May 15, 2026, regarding the registration of medical practitioners. The amendment replaces the word "considered" with "eligible" to clarify the status of applicants seeking to practice in Delhi. It establishes that practitioners registered with other recognized medical councils can gain eligibility through online self-declaration.
**Key Points / Main Content**
**Notification Amendment**
* Amends Notification No. F. No. DMC/ Reg./F.2/2/2/2026/339674 dated May 15, 2026.
* Specifically substitutes the word "considered" with "eligible" in the final paragraph of the original text.
**Eligibility for Practice**
* Applies to practitioners of the modern scientific system of medicine (allopathy) intending to practice in the NCT of Delhi.
* Eligible applicants include those already registered with any State Medical Council (SMC) of any Indian state or Union Territory.
* Practitioners registered with the National Medical Register (NMR) or any other National Register recognized by the Government of India are also eligible.
**Registration Requirements**
* Registration under the Delhi Medical Council Act, 1997, will be granted based on the self-declaration provided by the applicant in the online application form.
* Applicants are explicitly exempt from submitting any additional undertakings or approvals to the Delhi Medical Council.
**Impact Analysis**
**Allopathic Medical Practitioners**
**Impact**
The registration process for practicing in Delhi is simplified for doctors already registered in other states or at the national level. By moving to a self-declaration model, the administrative burden is reduced.
**Action Required**
Interested practitioners must fill out the online application form for the Delhi Medical Council and ensure the self-declaration section is accurately completed.
**Delhi Medical Council (DMC)**
**Impact**
The Council is now bound by the amended language which designates qualified applicants as "eligible" rather than merely "considered." This streamlines their internal verification process by removing the requirement for additional undertakings.
**Action Required**
The Council must process registrations under the Delhi Medical Council Act, 1997, based on online self-declarations without requesting further documentation or approvals from the applicants.
