NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 20th May, 2026
G.S.R. 385(E).— In exercise of the powers conferred by section 8 of the Cinematograph Act, 1952 (37 of
1952), the Central Government hereby makes these rules further to amend the Cinematograph (Certification) Rules,
2024, namely:-
1. (1) These rules may be called the Cinematograph (Certification) Amendment Rules, 2026.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Cinematograph (Certification) Rules, 2024,-
(a) in rule 33, sub-rule (2) shall be omitted.
(b) in rule 33, sub-rule (3), (4) and (5) shall be renumbered as sub-rule (2), (3) and (4), respectively.
(c) in rule 37, the proviso to sub-rule (3) shall be omitted.
