NOTIFICATION
Kolkata, the 12th March, 2018
S.O. 1218(E).—WHEREAS, the lands, buildings, streets, roads, passages or the right of user or easement
therein, specified in the Schedule, are required for the purpose of construction of Metro Railway from New Garia to
Titumir Station of New Garia – Dum Dum Airport project and other works connected therewith in the metropolitan City
of Kolkata;
AND WHEREAS, the Central Government is satisfied that such requirement of lands, buildings, streets, roads, passages
or the right of user or easement therein are required for public purpose;
AND WHEREAS, the plan bearing drawing number RVNL/KOL/METRO/ALIGN NG-DUM DUM AIRPORT/1/2017
of the area specified in the Schedule, is available for inspection in the office of the competent authority at 39/1, Rash
Behari Avenue, (1st Floor), Kolkata-700 026;
NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 7 of the Metro
Railways(Construction of Works) Act,1978 (33 of 1978), the Central Government hereby declares its intention to acquire
the lands, buildings, streets, roads, passages therein, as specified in the Schedule;
Any person interested in the said land, building, street, road, passage or the right of user or easement therein, as
mentioned in the Schedule may, within twenty one days from the date of publication of the substance of this notification,
object under sub-section (1) of section 9 of the said Act to such acquisition. The objections, if any, may be forwarded to
the Competent Authority in writing and shall set out the grounds thereof, and the Competent Authority shall give the
objector an opportunity of being heard either in person or by a legal practitioner and may, after hearing such objection
and after making such enquiry, if any, as the Competent Authority thinks necessary, by order, either allow or disallow the
objections.
Any order made, by the Competent Authority under Sub Section (2) of Section 9 of the said Act shall be final.
