NISHIKANT DUBEY: SHRI CHANDRA PRAKASH JOSHI: Will the Minister of CONSUMER AFFAIRS, FOOD AND PUBLIC DISTRIBUTION be pleased to state: (a) the details of coarse grains/Shree Anna procured by the Government at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for distribution under the Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS) and other welfare schemes across the country including Gujarat during the last five years, year and State- W lse (b) whether the Government has taken any steps to promote the procurement and distribution of Shree Anna/millets under the Public Distribution System (PDS) across the country particularly Rajasthan, the largest producer of Shree Anna including Jalore-Sirohi districts, Gujarat and Chhattisgarh; (c) if so, the details thereof; (d) the details of the measures taken by the Government to promote procurement, storage, distribution and raise awareness among people across the country including Karnataka; (e) whether minor millets have also been included for procurement offoodgrains under the PDS in various States particularly Karnataka and Gujarat to promote the cultivation thereof; and (f) if so, the details thereof, State-wise?ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE FOR MINISTRY OF CONSUMER AFFAIRS, FOOD & PUBLIC DISTRIBUTION (SHRIMATI NIMUBEN JAYANTIBHAI BAMBHANIYA) (a): Details are at Annexure I. (b) to (d): Government of India has taken following steps to promote procurement and distribution of Shree Anna/m illets in the country: i. Distribution period/Shelf life ofmillets has been increased from earlier 3 months to 6-10 months. ii. Provision has been made for inter-state transportation of surplus millets through FCI. iii. Administrative charges on acquisition stage has been increased from 1% to 2% of MSP. (e) & (f): Government has expanded scope of procurement of millets by states/UTs by including minor millets: Foxtail Millet (Kangani/Kakun), Proso Millet (Cheena), Kodo IVlillet (Kodo), little millet (Kutki), Buck-wheat (kuttu) and Ameranthus (Chaulai) under MSP scheme on the MSP of Ragi upto KMS 2028-29. 888##Annexure I referred to in the reply to Part (a) ofUnstarred Question No. 3926 in the Lok Sabha on 12.08.2026.
