Under Rules 5 (i) and (ii) of Order IV, Supreme Court Rules, 2013 and Regulation 2 of the Regulations regarding Advocates-on-Record Examination made thereunder governing the Examination for Advocates-on-Record, it is hereby notified for the information of all concerned that the next Examination for the Advocates-on-Record will be held at New Delhi on 10th, 11th, 14th and 15th June, 2024. 2. All the advocates who have completed their training for a continuous period of one year commencing from the end of the fourth year of date of their enrolment ending with the 30th April, 2024, or would complete their training before the commencement of the said examination, shall be eligible to appear for the aforesaid examination. 3. Applications should reach the Secretary, Board of Examiners by 15th April, 2024. For the convenience of the candidates, copy of the application form along with Instructions/Guidelines for submission of Application Form, has been appended with this notification as Annexure-'A'. Physical copy of application form may also be obtained from the office of the Secretary on any working day during working hours. No application shall be accepted after the last date for receipt of applications i.e. 15th April, 2024 after 5.00 p.m. 4. Acceptance of the application is subject to production of requisite certificate of training from an Advocate- on-Record under Regulation 6 of the Regulations regarding Advocates-on-Record Examination. 5. A list of leading cases with regard to Paper-IV 'Leading Cases' is appended to this Notification as Annexure-'B'. 6. Under Regulation 12 of the Regulations regarding Advocates-on-Record Examination, no application/ representation for re-evaluation of answer sheets shall be entertained. Application/representation seeking relief other 2196 GI/2024 (1)2 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA : EXTRAORDINARY [PART II—SEC. 3(i)] than in the nature of re-evaluation shall not be entertained beyond a period of 30 days from the date of declaration of the result. 7. In the ensuing examination, those who are given roll numbers and who absent themselves in any individual examination paper(s) will be treated as not sufficiently prepared for the examination and will be dealt with under Regulation 5(b) without giving them any further opportunity, and they shall not be permitted to sit in any subsequent examination except for good reason and with the express permission of the Board of Examiners. 8. Under Regulation 11(iii) of the Regulations regarding Advocates-on-Record Examination, a candidate who fails in all the papers of the examination shall not be permitted to appear in the next examination. The candidates, who do not appear in all the papers and fail in the papers in which they have appeared, shall be treated to have failed in all the papers including the papers they have not appeared. 9. Under Regulation 11(iv) of the Regulations regarding Advocates-on-Record Examination, a candidate shall not be allowed more than five chances to appear at the examination. Board of Examiners ANNEXURE-'A' Instructions / Guidelines for submission of Application Form for Advocates-on-Record Examination-June, 2024 The aspirants for the forthcoming Advocates-on-Record Examination-June, 2024 are hereby informed that as an alternative to submission of the hard copy of the Application Form for the said Examination, the scanned copy of the Application Form, along with the requisite documents and the prescribed fee, may provisionally be submitted through e-mail, subject to submission of the hard copy of the same to be sent through post/courier. The acceptance of the Application Form will be subject to the fulfillment of the following conditions:- 1. (i) The applicant-Advocates who have completed/will be completing continuous training of one year commencing from the end of the fourth year of date of their enrolment ending with the 30th April, 2024, or would complete their training before the commencement of the said examination, shall be eligible to appear for the aforesaid examination. (ii) Acceptance of the application is subject to production of requisite certificate of training from an Advocate-on-Record under Regulation 6 of the Regulations regarding Advocates-on-Record Examination. 2. (i) The Application Form should be legibly filled and duly signed by the applicant-Advocate. (ii) All the fields mentioned in the Application Form have to be filled by the applicant-Advocate. If any field is not applicable, the same may be struck out. No material information should be concealed. (iii) Incomplete/Illegible Application Form shall be summarily rejected. 3. One photograph has to be pasted at the designated place, i.e., on the top-right side of the Application Form. 4. Self-attested and legible copy of the Enrolment Certificate has to be annexed to the Application Form. 5. The applicant-Advocate has to ensure that he/she is eligible to apply for AOR Examination-June, 2024 in all respects:- (i) He/she has undergone one year of mandatory training and had furnished prior intimation to this Registry. (ii) Under Regulation 11(iii) of the Regulations regarding Advocates-on-Record Examination, a candidate who fails in all the papers of the examination shall not be permitted to appear in the next examination. Those candidates who were declared to have failed in all papers of the last AOR Examination, in which they appeared, are, therefore, not eligible to apply for AOR Examination-June, 2024 in view of those provisions. (iii) Under Regulation 11(iv) of the Regulations regarding Advocates-on-Record Examination, a candidate shall not be allowed more than five chances to appear at the examination. Those candidates who have already availed five chances are, therefore, not eligible to apply for AOR Examination-June, 2024. 6. The scanned copy of duly filled Application Form with photograph affixed thereon, along with the self- attested copy of the Enrolment Certificate, may be sent through e-mail at advocate-on-record@sci.nic.in, subject to submission of the hard copy of the same in Room No. 407, 4th Floor, A- Block, Additional Building Complex, Supreme Court of India, New Delhi, latest by 5.00 p.m. on 15th April, 2024. Scanned copy of the Application Form must be accompanied by the requisite documents, failing which it is liable to be rejected. 7. After due verification of the Application Form and documents, if it is found in order, the applicant- Advocate will be informed through e-mail whereafter he/she has to deposit the prescribed Examination Fee of Rs. 750/- online within a period of 02 days from the date of receipt of confirmatory e-mail from the Registry to the effect that the Application Form is in order, in the following Account:- Account No.: 02070200016235 IFSC Code: UCBA0000207 Bank Name: UCO Bank, Supreme Court of India. While submitting the application fee, the applicant must mention his full name in the remarks column of the online payment module. It is compulsory to deposit the fee within two days and in case the fee is not deposited within two days of receipt of the confirmatory e-mail from the Registry, the application is liable to be rejected. 8. After submission of the requisite fee, the applicant-Advocate is required to submit the hard copy of the following documents: (i) His/her Application Form, with one copy of photograph affixed thereon. (ii) Self-attested copy of his/her Enrolment Certificate. (iii) Receipt of payment of Rs. 750/-. These documents should be sent to “The Secretary, Board of Examiners, AOR Examination Cell, Room No. 407, 4th Floor, A-Block, Additional Building Complex, Supreme Court of India, Tilak Marg, New Delhi-110001". 9. The final acceptance of the Application Form will be subject to the receipt of the hard copy of the Application Form. The candidates may please note that the submission of the soft copy of the Application Form has to be done latest by 5.00 p.m. on 15th April, 2024. The last date for applying for AOR Examination-June, 2024 is 15th April, 2024. The Registry will not be responsible for any postal delay. 10. In case, at any stage, an applicant-Advocate is found to be ineligible to apply for AOR Examination-June, 2024, his/her Application Form will be rejected.
