This notification, S.O. 3908(E), issued by the Ministry of Power on August 26, 2025, appoints officers of Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) as Electrical Inspectors for CMRL. 2. S.K. Natarajan, Advisor EM, AMIE Electrical Engineering, ME Power System, C License Holder, Certified Energy Auditor.
3. Balamurugan C, Additional General Manager/Rolling Stock Electronics, DEEE Electrical Electronics, BE Electrical Electronics, ME Power Systems, MBA Marketing, Certified IPMA Level B Senior Project Manager, FIE C.Eng.I.
4. M. Anburajan, Joint General Manager/PSOHE, CMRL, B.EEEE.
These officers will serve as Electrical Inspectors from the date of the notification until their tenure in CMRL ends or until further orders, whichever is earlier, contingent upon fulfilling the qualifications and conditions specified in the aforementioned Rules. Their responsibilities encompass electrical works, installations, and rolling stock within CMRL areas, following the Central Electricity Authority (Measures relating to Safety and Electricity Supply) Regulations, 2010, as amended. The officers are prohibited from acting as Electrical Inspectors for any electrical work or installation for which they are responsible for execution or maintenance. The appointed officers are also required to undergo training as deemed necessary by the Central Government.

S.O. 3908(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred under sub-section (1) of section 162 of the Electricity
Act, 2003 (36 of 2003) read with Qualifications, Powers and Functions of Chief Electrical Inspector and Electrical
Inspectors Rules, 2006 (hereinafter called the said Rules), notified on 17.08.2006 and as amended on 16.05.2016, the
Central Government hereby appoints the following officers of Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) as Electrical
Inspector for Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) from the date of this Notification till their tenure in CMRL or till
further orders, whichever is earlier, subject to fulfillment of the qualifications and conditions mentioned in the said
Rules:-

The above mentioned officers shall exercise the powers and perform their functions in respect of electrical
works, electrical installations and electrical rolling stock in operation within the areas occupied by CMRL in respect
of work and electrical installations under the control of CMRL/belonging to CMRL as per the procedure laid down in
Central Electricity Authority (Measures relating to Safety and Electricity Supply) Regulations, 2010, as amended from
time to time.
It shall be ensured that above mentioned officers shall not function as Electrical Inspector in respect of any
electrical work or installation, for which, execution or maintenance is their responsibility.
The officers appointed as Electrical Inspector shall undergo such training as the Central Government may
consider necessary for the purpose and such training shall be completed to the satisfaction of the Government.
