ECI is revising the Electoral Rolls of Bihar as per the Constitution of India and the Law. Regular Press Notes (PNs) and Advts are being issued to keep the citizens fully informed. 2. Citizens are also aware that revision of electoral roll is mandatory before every election as per Section 21(2)(a) of the RP Act 1950 & Rule 25 of the Registration of Electors Rules 1960. (Link: Para 5, PN 237, 30 June) 3. Bihar became the 1st State to limit the number of electors per booth to 1,200 to avoid long queues. Number of Polling Stations were accordingly increased from 77,895 to 90,712. (Link: Para 1, PN 260, 21 July) 4. Similarly, the number of BLOs was also increased from 77,895 to 90,712.
