The Election Commission mandates that Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) must dispose of claims and objections no sooner than seven days after the notice period, following verification of eligibility. Names cannot be deleted from the draft list without a speaking order from the ERO/AERO, an enquiry, and a fair opportunity for the elector. Reasons for non-inclusion in the draft electoral roll are available on the websites of District Election Officers (DEOs), District Magistrates (DMs), and the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), searchable by EPIC number.
Aggrieved persons can file claims in Form 6 with a copy of their Aadhaar card, while electors can file objections in Form 7 if an ineligible elector is included. Non-electors of the Assembly Constituency can also file specific objections with a declaration/oath as per Rule 203 b of the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960. The draft list was shared with 12 recognized political parties in Bihar.
