This Election Commission of Bihar daily bulletin, dated August 22, 2025, provides an update on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2025 process, initiated on June 24, 2025, to strengthen electoral rolls. As of August 22, 2025, at 10:38 AM, there are 10 days remaining (until September 1, 2025) to file claims and objections regarding the draft electoral roll published on August 1, 2025.
The bulletin details the claims and objections received from political parties. The Bharatiya Janata Party submitted 53,338, Rashtriya Janata Dal submitted 47,506 and Janata Dal United submitted 36,550. In total, 160,813 claims/objections were filed.
It further clarifies the process for filing claims (Form 6) for inclusion of eligible electors and objections (Form 7) for exclusion of ineligible electors. Claims and Objections received directly from Electors w.r.t. Draft Roll Inclusion of e l i g i b l e electors and Exclusion of 84,305 6,092 ineligible electors. New electors on attaining 18 years of age or above submitted 263,257 form 6 declarations.
BLAs (Booth Level Agents) appointed by recognized political parties can collect and submit Forms 6 and 7 with a declaration. Any person who is not an Elector of that Assembly Constituency can also file specific objection, cid:108 along with declarationoath as per Rule 203 b of the RER 1960. Generic complaints without prescribed forms or declarations will not be considered.
Claims and objections are to be disposed of by the concerned ERO/AERO after a 7-day notice period and verification of eligibility. No names can be deleted from the draft list without a speaking order by the ERO/AERO, following an inquiry and fair opportunity given to the individual.
The list of names not included in the draft electoral roll dated August 1, 2025, along with reasons for non-inclusion, is available on the websites of DEOs/DMs district-wise and the CEO website, searchable by EPIC number. Aggrieved persons may submit claims with a copy of their Aadhaar card.
