Nagpur : 5 August 2026 The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), the National Standards Body of India under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Government of India, organised a Manak Manthan (Technical Meeting) on IS 2052:2023 – Compounded Feeds for Cattle – Specification (Fifth Revision) and Draft Standard FAD/18/33969 – Traceability System Requirements for Milk and Milk Products Processing Plants on 30 July 2026 at Hotel Hardeo, Nagpur.

The programme commenced with the BIS Manak Geet, followed by a welcome address by BIS officials. Participants were briefed on the procedure for submitting comments on recently revised and newly published Indian Standards as well as Wide Circulated Draft Standards through the BIS portal. The officials also explained the objectives of the Manak Manthan and highlighted the scope and significance of IS 2052:2023 and Draft Standard FAD/18/33969.

A detailed technical presentation was delivered on the provisions of IS 2052:2023 – Compounded Feeds for Cattle – Specification (Fifth Revision) and Draft Standard FAD/18/33969 – Traceability System Requirements for Milk and Milk Products Processing Plants. The session provided participants with an opportunity to understand the standards and their practical applications.

An interactive discussion followed the presentations, during which participants shared their observations and suggestions based on their practical experience and academic expertise. The comments received during the meeting are being compiled for further necessary action in the standardisation process.

Participants were also informed about the facility for free downloading of Indian Standards from the BIS website. Information regarding the procedure for obtaining a BIS licence was shared, and eligible stakeholders were encouraged to apply for BIS certification.

The participants appreciated the initiative and requested BIS to organise more such technical programmes in the future. The programme was conducted successfully under the guidance of Dr. Manoj Kumar Rajak, Director & Head, BIS Nagpur Branch Office.
