NOTIFICATION
The draft of the following rules further to amend the Karnataka General
Service (Motor Vehicles Branch) (Recruitment) Rules, 2020 which the Government
of Karnataka proposes to make in exercise of the powers conferred by section 3
read with section 8 of the Karnataka State Civil Services Act, 1978 (Karnataka Act
14 of 1990) is hereby published as required by clause (a) of sub section (2) of section
3 of the said Act, for the information of all persons likely to be effected thereby and5
notice is hereby given that the said draft will be taken into consideration after
fifteen days from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
Any objection or suggestion which may be received by the State Government
from any person with respect to the said draft before the expiry of the period
specified above will be considered by the State Government. Objections and
suggestion may be addressed to the Secretary to Government, Transport
Department, 3rd Gate, 1st Floor, M.S. Building, Bengaluru-560 001.
DRAFT RULES
1. Title and Commencement:- (1) These rules may be called the Karnataka
General Service (Motor Vehicles Branch) (Recruitment) (Amendment) Rules, 2022.
(2) They shall come into force from the date of their final publication in the
Official Gazette.
2. Amendment to the Schedule.- (i) In the Karnataka General Service (Motor
Vehicles Branch) (Recruitment) Rules, 2021, in Schedule I,-
(i) In the entries relating to the category of post of " Regional Transport
Officer” at Serial No:5, in column No.4 for the words, brackets and figures
“Karnataka Civil Services (Direct recruitment through competitive exams and
selection) (General) Rules, 2006 ” the words, brackets and figures “ the Karnataka
Civil Services (Direct recruitment) (General) Rules, 2021 ” shall be substituted.
(ii) In the entries relating to the category of post of “ Inspector of Motor
Vehicles" at serial No. 9, for the entries in column No. 4 and 5, the following shall
be substituted, namely:-

mentioned above shall be a disqualification.
(c) Anyone of the following shall also be
physical disqualifications;
(i) Knock-knees
(ii) Bow legs
(iii) Flat feet
(iv) Varicose Veins
(d) Must be free from all congenital diseases
and or deformities as certified by Medical
Board constituted for this purpose.
For Promotion.-
(1) Must possess the educational qualification
and physical standards as prescribed for
direct recruitment.
(2) Must have put in a service of not less than
eight years in Group-C cadres of which must
have served at least three years in the cadre of
First Division Assistant or Stenographer or
Senior Typist or Senior Drivers and not less
than three years from the date of acquiring
educational qualification prescribed for direct
recruitment.
Provided that if an official who has put
in a service of not less than three years in
the cadre of First Division Assistant or
Stenographer or Senior Typist or Senior
Driver is not available then an official who
has put in a service of not less than two
years in the above cadres may be
considered for promotion.
(3) Must not have attained the age of fifty years
