Capital Goods Common Engineering Facility Centres In Maharashtra

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF HEAVY INDUSTRIES RAJYA SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 3280 ANSWERED ON 20.03.2026 CAPITAL GOODS COMMON ENGINEERING FACILITY CENTRES IN MAHARASHTRA 3280. DR. FAUZIA KHAN: Will the Minister of Heavy Industries be pleased to state: (a) the number of MSMEs and trainees who have accessed the Common Engineering Facility Centres (CEFCs) in Maharashtra since their inauguration under Phase II of the Scheme for Enhancement of Competitiveness of Capital Goods Sector; (b) the outreach measures adopted by implementing agencies to promote awareness and engagement among local manufacturers regarding the services and technologies available at these CEFCs; (c) whether Government has plans for enhancing centre capabilities, expanding service offerings or replicating successful models in other districts of Maharashtra based on lessons learned from the established facilities; and (d) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR HEAVY INDUSTRIES (SHRI BHUPATHIRAJU SRINIVASA VARMA) (a): Under the Scheme for Enhancement of Competitiveness in the Indian Capital Goods Sector, two Common Engineering Facility Centres (CEFCs) namely Setting up of CEFC at C4i4 Pune by Samarth Udyog Technology Forum and Setting up of CEFC at Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), Pune have been established in Maharashtra. Data regarding MSMEs and trainees who have accessed the Common Engineering Facility Centres (CEFCs) in Maharashtra is not maintained by this Ministry. (b): These CEFCs carry out periodical industry awareness workshops and seminars, hands-on demonstrations and technology showcases, collaboration with industry associations & chambers and participation in exhibitions and trade fairs as outreach measures to promote awareness. (c) & (d): No such proposal is under consideration in this Ministry. ********
