CAPITAL GOODS TESTING AND RESEARCH INFRASTRUCTURE IN ODISHA
2490. SHRI SUBHASISH KHUNTIA:
Will the Minister of Heavy Industries be pleased to state:
(a) whether Government has reviewed the regional distribution of Common Engineering Facility
Centres (CEFCs) and Testing and Certification Centres under Phase II of the Capital Goods
Scheme, particularly for Eastern India, if so, the findings thereof and if not, the reasons therefor;
(b) whether any specialised research, testing or certification centre for heavy engineering and
mining machinery has been sanctioned in Odisha, if not, the reasons therefor; and
(c) whether the Ministry proposes to establish such a centre to support downstream MSMEs, if so,
the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) to (c): Scheme for Enhancement of Competitiveness in the Indian Capital Goods Sector-
Phase-II is a pan India demand driven Scheme under which proposals are submitted by Project
Implementing Organizations (PIOs) in association with Industry Partner(s) from any UT/ State of
the country. Under the Scheme, no project proposal has been received from Odisha so far. State-
wise details of the sanctioned projects is as under:
