is directed to refer to the subject cited above and to state that it
has been observed that a significant number of vehicle owners and Driving License
Holders have not updated their mobile numbers in the VAHAN and SARATHI database.
As a result, important service-related
alerts, messages, and statutory notices are not
reaching the intended recipients, thereby hindering timely compliance and necessary
action.
2. In light of the above, the National Informatics Centre (NIC) has been entrusted
with the task of capturing and updating the communication
details, particularly mobile
numbers, of vehicle owners and Driving License Holders in the relevant database to
ensure accurate and timely dissemination of information.
3. The competent authority has approved the enclosed communication
materials—
namely, English and Hindi popups, banners, and a footer banner—along wnh';‘a three-
month awareness campaign. The objective of this initiative is to encourage citizens to
update their mobile numbers through Aadhaar authentication via the Transport Portal:

4. NIC has been directed to implement the necessary changes in the Transport
Portal and associated
databases
to enable the secure storage and verification
