Go-Paryavekshak (Go-P) The outcome of an R&D project titled ‘Electronic Platform to Monitor Cattle Health and Milk Quality’ under ‘National Programme on Electronics and ICT Application in Agriculture and Environment (AgriEnIcs)” implemented by C-DAC-Kolkata, IIT Kharagpur, ICAR-NDRI, Kalyani, funded by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Govt. of India Go-P is used to monitor the health status of a cow in a herd or individual in 24x7 through the intervention of sensors, electronics and ICT. It helps to detect whether the cow is in heat or not to optimise breeding success and overall herd production. C-DAC, Kolkata, in association with NDRI, Kalyani developed a wearable collar-mounted device with cloud storage networking to monitor the primary parameters like feeding, ruminating and other activities, detect health statuses like Healthy, Unhealthy or Heat and generate alarms to the stakeholders.
Benefits Disease Prevention and Reduced Treatment Costs Improved Livestock Productivity Enhanced Reproduction Rates Reduction in Mortality Rates Data-Driven Decision-Making Long-Term Sustainability Features and Experimental Details Wearable, collar-mounted sensing device Low power battery operated Monitor health status, i.e., Healthy, Unhealthy in 24x7 Detection of cattle Heat User-friendly multilingual GUI Strongly corelated with visual observations Beneficiaries Dairy Farmers, Veterinarians, Dairy Cooperatives, Agri-Tech Entrepreneurs
