Ms. No. 239, Agriculture (AP5), 15th October 2020, ¹ó†ì£C 29, ꣘õK, F¼õœÀõ˜ ݇´-2051.] No. II(1)/AG/25/2020.—Whereas, the Governor of the State is of the Opinion that it is expedient and necessary for the reason that, - a) few number of farm labourers and farmers have been exposed to poisoning and lost their lives after using the insecticides specifi ed in the Schedule appended hereto; b) these insecticides are either extremely or highly toxic or moderately toxic but have highly toxic eff ect due to use for blending in an unauthorized manner; c) use of the insecticides specifi ed in the Schedule appended hereto, or any batches thereof or any combinations of such insecticides is likely to involve risk to human beings or animals; d) the research report submitted by the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore and the High Level Committee constituted to examine the possibility of banning of Hazardous insecticides have recommended to prohibit the insecticides specifi ed in the Schedule appended hereto for sixty days as per the provision contained in Section 27 of the Insecticides Act, 1968 (Central Act 46 of 1968). Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 27 of the Insecticides Act, 1968 (Central Act 46 of 1968), the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby prohibits the sale, distribution or use of insecticide or any batches thereof, any combination thereof as specifi ed in the Schedule appended hereto, for the period of sixty days from the date of publication of this notifi cation pendlnq investigation into the matter.
