TAMIL NADU ELECTRICITY REGULATORY COMMISSION, CHENNAI Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Commission State Advisory Committee (Amendment) Regulations, 2004 (Notification No. TNERC/SACR/2-57) (Lr.No. TNERC/Legal/1364/D. No. 368/2024) No. VI(2)/8/2024. WHEREAS the Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Commission specified and notified the Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Commission- State Advisory Committee Regulations, 2004 under sub–section (1) of Section 87 of the Electricity Act,2003 (Central Act 36 of 2003) and published in Part VI—Section 2 of the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette (Supplement) dated 18th February, 2004. AND WHEREAS it is considered necessary to issue an amendment to sub-regulation (2) of Regulation 12 of “Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Commission – State Advisory Committee Regulations,2004 so as to enhance the sitting fee as determined by the Commission from time to time for the members except for ex-officio members and serving Government employees nominated to the Commission or anyone who is otherwise ineligible for any reason shall be subject to the condition of previous publication and accordingly have undergone such previous publication. Now, Therefore in exercise of the powers conferred on it by sub-section (1) of Section 87 of the Electricity Act, 2003 (Central Act No.36 of 2003) and all other powers enabling it in that behalf, the Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Commission hereby specified the following amendment to Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Commission – State Advisory Committee Regulations, 2004, namely; Amendment For sub-regulation (2) of Regulation 12, the following shall be substituted namely:- “12. (2) A sitting fee as determined by the Commission from time to time, shall be payable to all the members of the Committee except the ex-officio members and the serving Government Employees who have been nominated to the Committee or to anyone who is otherwise found ineligible for any reason.” Explanatory Statement The existing sitting fee to member of State Advisory Committee have not been revised for the past 20 years. The enhancement of sitting fee by the Commission would encourage the active participation of members in taking important decisions in consultation with the Committee. Hence, the determination of sitting fee by the Commission from time to time on need basis is required. The present amendment seeks to achieve the said object. Existing provision Regulation as amended (1) (2) 12. (2) A sitting fee of Rs.1,000/- per meeting shall be payable to 12. (2) பதவி வழி உறுபபிைர்்கள், அரசு ஊழியர்்கைா்கப பணிபுரியும் உறுபபிைர்்கள் மற்றும் தகுதியற்ைவர்்கள் எை ஏலதனும் ்காரைம் ்கண்்டறியபபட்ட உறுபபிைர்்கள் தவிர இககுழுவின மற்லைய எல்ைா உறுபபிைர்்களுககும் ஆலையம் அவவபலபாது நிர்ையித்துள்ை அமர்வுக ்கட்டைம் வ்காடுக்கபபடுதல் லவண்டும்.” விைக்கவுலர தற்லபாது ்ல்டமுலையிலுள்ை மாநிை ஆலைா்லைககுழு உறுபபிைர்்களுககு வழங்கபபடடு வரும் அமர்வுக ்கட்டைமாைது ்க்டந்த இருபது வரு்டங்கைா்க உயர்த்தபப்டவில்லை. அந்தக ்கட்டைத்லத லதலவகல்கற்ப அவவபலபாது மறுநிர்ையம் வ்ய்து வழஙகும்பட்த்தில், ஆலைா்லைககுழுவு்டன இலைந்து எடுக்கபபடும் முககிய முடிவு்கலை உறுபபிைர்்களின முழுப பங்களிபபு்டன எடுபபதற்கு ஏதுவா்க இருககும். எைலவ, அவவபலபாது லதலவ ஏற்படின, ஆலைா்லைககுழு உறுபபிைர்்களின அமர்வுக ்கட்டைத்லத இவவாலையம் மறுநிர்ையம் வ்ய்ய அவசியமாகிைது. இத்திருத்தம் கூைபபட்ட ல்ாக்கத்லத அல்டவதற்கு ஒழுஙகுமுலை விதி்கலை மாற்றியலமக்க விலழகிைது. இருந்துவரும் வல்கமுலை திருத்தத்லத உள்ை்டககிய வல்கமுலை (1) (2) 12.
