The Ministry of Women and Child Development will hold the concluding ceremony of the 8th Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2025 in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, on October 17, 2025, at the Himalayan Cultural Centre. The month-long Rashtriya Poshan Maah (September 17-October 16, 2025) was launched from Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Smt. Savitri Thakur, Minister of State, Ministry of Women and Child Development, will be the Chief Guest, along with Smt. Rekha Arya, Cabinet Minister, Women Empowerment and Child Development, Government of Uttarakhand, and Shri Ganesh Joshi, Cabinet Minister, Rural Development, Government of Uttarakhand. The Poshan Maah was celebrated nationwide under the theme “Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar”, focusing on improving women and children's health and nutrition, emphasizing comprehensive health screening and services, including Addressing Obesity, Reducing Sugar and Oil Consumption, Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE), Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) Practices, Men-streaming in Nutrition, Vocal for Local – for Grassroots Empowerment and Self-Reliance, and Convergent Actions & Digitisation. The concluding ceremony of the 8 Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2025 will be held tomorrow (17 October 2025 )
at the Himalayan Cultural Centre, Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The event marks the culmination of a month-long
Jan Andolan dedicated to enhancing nutrition awareness, community participation and behavioural change
across the country under Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0.
The ceremony will be graced by Smt. Savitri Thakur, Minister of State, Ministry of Women and Child
Development, Government of India, as the Chief Guest, along with Smt. Rekha Arya, Cabinet Minister,
Women Empowerment and Child Development, Government of Uttarakhand, and Shri Ganesh Joshi, Cabinet
Minister, Rural Development, Government of Uttarakhand. Senior officers from MoWCD, Government of
India and the Government of Uttarakhand, as well as Anganwadi workers and helpers from across the State,
will also participate.
This year’s Poshan Maah has been celebrated nationwide under the overarching theme “Swasth Nari, Sashakt
Parivar”, focusing on improving the health and nutrition of women and children, with an emphasis on
comprehensive health screening and services. The key thematic areas included: Addressing Obesity, Reducing
Sugar and Oil Consumption, Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE), Infant and Young Child Feeding
(IYCF) Practices, Men-streaming in Nutrition, Vocal for Local – for Grassroots Empowerment and Self-
Reliance, and Convergent Actions & Digitisation.
Under the leadership of Union Minister of Women and Child Development, Smt. Annpurna Devi, the month-
long observance of Poshan Maah 2025 brought together various Ministries, Departments, and community-
based organisations in the true spirit of “Whole-of-Government, Whole-of-Society” convergence. From
household-level nutrition demonstrations to large-scale awareness campaigns, the activities reflected the
shared national commitment to a Suposhit Bharat—a nourished, healthy, and empowered nation—laying a
strong foundation for a Viksit Bharat by 2047.
The concluding ceremony will showcase community mobilisation, field initiatives and in nutrition, while
felicitating Poshan and Mission Shakti Champions. It celebrates collective action, advancing the Jan Andolan
for Suposhit and Viksit Bharat.
