The functions of the Samiti will be to render advice to Department of Space and Department of Atomic Energy with regard to the progressive use of Hindi in official work and implementation of the laid down provisions of the Official Language Policy and instructions issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Official Language. Tenure of the Samiti. The tenure of the Samiti will be three years from the date of its composition provided that: (a) A member, who is a Member of Parliament, ceases to be a member of the Samiti as soon as he ceases to be a Member of Parliament. (b) Ex-officio members of the Samiti shall continue as Members so long as they hold the office by virtue of which they are Members of the Samiti. (c) If a vacancy arises on the Samiti due to death or resignation of the Member, the Member appointed in that capacity shall hold office for the residual term. T.A. and other allowances : The non-official members will be admissible for T.A./D.A. for attending meetings of the Samiti in accordance with the guidelines contained in DOL's O.M.
