F. No. 1011/TO(S)/TC/Felling/18-19/Pt. I/17583.— WHEREAS, an application was received by
the Tree Officer (South Forest Division) from Executive Engineer, Education Project Division-I, PWD,
GNCTD for seeking permission under the Delhi Preservation of Trees Act, 1994 (Delhi Act 11 of 1994)
(hereinafter referred to as DPTA, 1994) for transplantation / felling of 275 number of trees for proposed
construction of G.B Pant Delhi Skill & Entrepreneurship University (Erstwhile integrated campus of G.B
Pant Engineering College and Polytechnic) on Kh. No. 400, 401, 1131/ 402, 1187/ 1130/402, 440, 445, 446,
447, 448, 449, 450, 451, 453, 454, 1721 / 452, 455 of village Baharpur at Okhla Industrial Estate Phase-III,
New Delhi under Delhi Preservation of Trees Act (DPTA), 1994 in an area of 8.545 hectares.
AND WHEREAS, the Tree Officer (South Forest Division) after due application of mind, has
sought exemption in respect of 8.545 hectares area (as per details in Annexure – A) under Section 29 of the
DPTA, 1994 from applicability of Section 9 sub-section (3) of the DPTA, 1994, in view of limitation of8 DELHI GAZETTE : EXTRAORDINARY PART IV]
maximum one hectare area for considering application of tree felling / transplantation by the Tree Officer
(South Forest Division) in Section 9 sub-section (3) of the DPTA, 1994.
THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 29 of the DPTA, 1994, the Lt.
Governor of National Capital Territory of Delhi, hereby, in public interest, exempts an area of 8.545 hectares
(as per details in Annexure – A), from the limitation of maximum one hectare area under sub-section (3) of
Section 9 of the said Act for proposed G.B Pant Delhi Skill & Entrepreneurship University (Erstwhile
integrated campus of G.B Pant Engineering College and Polytechnic) on Kh. No. 400, 401, 1131/ 402, 1187/
1130/402, 440, 445, 446, 447, 448, 449, 450, 451, 453, 454, 1721 / 452, 455 of village Baharpur at Okhla
Industrial Estate Phase-III, New Delhi under Delhi Preservation of Trees Act (DPTA), 1994 with the
following conditions:-
1) This notification is being issued under Section 29 of the DPTA, 1994 only to exempt the 8.545 hectares
area (as per details in Annexure – A) from the limitation of maximum one hectare area under sub-section
(3) of Section 9 of the DPTA, 1994 for construction of G.B Pant Delhi Skill & Entrepreneurship
University (Erstwhile integrated campus of G.B Pant Engineering College and Polytechnic) on Kh. No.

3) The application for transplantation / felling of tress shall be considered and scrutinized independently
and separately by the Tree Officer (South Forest Division) under the provisions of the DPTA, 1994, the
Delhi Preservation of Trees Rules, 1996, relevant guidelines, directions issued in this regard and all
relevant court orders with due application of mind minimizing the number of affected trees to be
transplanted / felled from within the exempted area.
