Key Points / Main Content
Construction Process and Dependencies
The construction of permanent NV buildings and hostels is a continuous process rather than a single event.
Project progression is dependent on land identification, completion of lease formalities for the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS), submission of technical drawings/estimates, and the availability of funds and approvals.
Phased Development Strategy
Phase-A: Focuses on essential infrastructure, including the school building, kitchen, dining area, and partial dormitories and staff quarters.
Phase-B: Includes additional partial dormitories and staff quarters.
Phase-B (Balance): Involves the construction of remaining dormitories based on the actual growth and requirements of the students.
Progress in Uttar Pradesh
In 2023-24, 1,248 beds were constructed across the Kanshiramnagar, Hapur, Shamli, Badaun, and Sultanpur districts.

Impact Analysis
Students and ParentsImpact
The expansion of dormitory facilities directly increases the residential capacity of NVs, allowing more students to access quality education in a residential setting across various States and UTs.
Action Required
Interested parties should monitor the growth of local Vidyalayas to identify increased enrollment opportunities resulting from these infrastructure developments.
Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) and Ministry of EducationImpact
These bodies are responsible for the oversight and funding of the continuous construction process to match student growth.
Action Required
NVS must ensure the completion of lease formalities and coordinate with construction agencies to submit necessary drawings and estimates for timely fund release.
Sponsoring Authorities and Construction AgenciesImpact
These stakeholders are the primary executors of the physical infrastructure, impacted by the specific requirements of the three-phase construction model.
Action Required
Authorities must identify suitable land and finalize leases, while agencies must provide accurate estimates and adhere to the phased construction schedule to ensure the efficient use of infrastructure.
