Status of Sugar Mills in Madhya Pradesh Based on data from the Government of Madhya Pradesh, there are currently no cooperative sugar mills operational in the Narsinghpur district or the Tendukheda Assembly constituency. Financial assistance for the revival and modernization of Cooperative Sugar Mills (CSMs) is provided by the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC), a statutory organization under the Ministry’s administrative control. This assistance is distributed either directly to the CSMs or through State Governments, contingent upon due diligence and the technical viability of the projects as per NCDC guidelines.

Ministry of Cooperation Cooperative Sugar Mill प्रव तथ: 28 JUL 2026 5:22PM by PIB Delhi As per the information received from Government of Madhya Pradesh, there is no cooperative sugar mills in Tendukheda Assembly constituency of Narsinghpur district in Madhya Pradesh. At present, eight private sugar mills are operational in Narsinghpur district, out of which two sugar mills are functioning in the Tendukheda Assembly Constituency. The Central Government does not set up Co-operative Sugar mill in any part of the country. As per the information received from Department of Food and Public Distribution, sugar industry was deleted from list of industries required compulsory licensing, vide press note dated 31.08.1998. Ministry of Cooperation has taken up steps to revive co-operative sugar mills in the country. National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC), a statutory organization under the administrative control of Ministry of Cooperation provides financial assistance for the revival and modernization of cooperative sugar mills either directly to the Cooperative Sugar Mills (CSMs) or through the State Government for passing on the same to CSMs, with due-diligence and subject to the viability of the project as per NCDC guidelines.
