Building, Bangalore, dated:17.08.2024 CORRIGENDUM The following shall be substituted for the guidelines at Sl.No:7, 10 and 11 of the guidelines issued vide annexure to the Government Order No:FEE 230 EPC 2017, dated 31.08.2020 officially published in extra-ordinary Gazette Part-1 at No:403 of the Karnataka State Gazette dated:31.08.2023, namely:- A) “7. (i) There shall be a Scrutiny Committee of following composition to shortlist the applications based on eligibility criteria. a Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Forest, Ecology and Environment Department or Principal Secretary to Government, Forest, Ecology and Environment Department(Ecology and Environment) or Any other suitable officer of Additional Chief Secretary Rank (1)2 b Chairman, Central Pollution Control Board or his nominee c Director, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru or his nominee having special knowledge and experience in control of pollution and other environment related issues d One expert having special knowledge and experience in control of pollution and other environment related issues pertaining to Industries and Mining nominated by the Principal Secretary to Government, Department of Commerce & Industries e One experts having special knowledge and experience in Urban administration, control of urban pollution and environment related issues pertaining to industrialization, sewage treatment, solid waste management and etc., nominated by the Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Department of Urban Development Provided that the Scrutiny Committee shall co-opt experts other than the members thereof, if it deems fit. (ii) The Scrutiny Committee shall evolve set of norms to be recorded in writing, for shortlisting the applications after holding deliberation. The Scrutiny Committee shall finalize the shortlisting of applications based on the norms in due course and forward the same to the Search cum Selection Committee. (iii) The Search cum selection Committee shall go through all the eligible applications shortlisted by the Scrutiny Committee, meticulously taking into eligibility, merit, competence, integrity, morals and institutional commitment of the candidates into consideration and assessing the suitability of candidates and select suitable candidate who adds value and Stature to the State Pollution Control Board, after recording the reasons in detail.” B) “10. Any vacancy caused by resignation, removal or otherwise of the Chairman shall be filled by fresh nomination in accordance with theseR.N.I. No. KARBIL/2001/47147 POSTAL REGN. No. RNP/KA/BGS/2202/2017-19 Licensed to post without prepayment WPP No. 297 3 Rules. However, till such period, the Additional Chief Secretary of the Forest, Ecology and Environment Department or the Principal Secretary to Government (Ecology and Environment), Forest, Ecology and Environment Department or any other suitable officer of Additional Chief Secretary Rank shall be the Chairman of the Board for the remaining period not exceeding six months. If remaining period is more than six months, such pro-tem arrangement shall be continued until a new Chairman duly nominated by the State Government enters upon the office, for reasons to be recorded in writing.” C) “11. Any vacancy caused by the resignation or removal of any non- official Member if the remaining term is more than six months, the Members including Member Secretary so appointed shall be for the remaining term. The State Government, however, may opt for not filling the vacancy if it deems fit for reasons to be recorded in writing. Aforesaid amendments shall be deemed to be part of the guidelines issued vide annexure to the Government Order No:FEE 230 EPC 2017, dated 31.08.2023 By order and in the name of the Governor of Karnataka.
