1. (i) इि नियमों को औषध (...... संशोधि) नियम, 2026 कहा िा सकिा ह।ै

(ii) ये नियम सरकारी रािपत्र म ें नियमों के अंनिम प्रकाशि के समय सरकार द्वारा नवनिर्दडष्ट िारीि स े प्रवृत्त होंगे।

2. औषध नियम, 1945 म,ें अिुसचू ी 'के' (Schedule K) के अंिगडि क्रम संख्या 15 और उससे संबंनधि प्रनवनष्टयों के बाद, निम्ननिनिि प्रनवनष्ट अिं ःस्थानपि की िाएगी, अथाडि्: ― औषध का वग ड छूि की सीमा और शि ें

(6) क्रम संख्या 5 के पश्चाि, निम्ननिनिि क्रम "अनधनियम के अध्याय IV के प्रावधाि और उसके अधीि बिाए गए संख्या और प्रनवनष्ट अिं ःस्थानपि की नियम नििके निए उन्ह ें नवक्रय िाइसेंस द्वारा कवर ककए िािे की िाएगी: - िेवोिोगेस्रेि िैबिेि 0.75 आवश्यकिा ह"ै शब्दों के पश्चाि निम्ननिनिि अंिःस्थानपि ककया िाएगा:

नमग्रा/1.5 नमग्रा - िेवोिोगेस्रेि िैबिेि 0.75 नमग्रा/1.5 नमग्रा के निए, पैकेविंग पर और पैकेि इंसिड म ें निम्ननिनिि बॉक्स चेिाविी भी प्रदाि की िाएगी: a. क. आपािकािीि गभडनिरोधक गोिी केवि आपािकािीि नस्थनियों में िी िािी ह,ै इस ेनियनमि गभडनिरोधक के रूप म ें उपयोग िहीं ककया िािा चानहए। b. ख. आपािकािीि गभडनिरोधक गोिी के बार-बार उपयोग स े दष्प्ु प्रभाव हो सकिे ह।ैं नियनमि गभडनिरोधक के निए िल्द स ेिल्द निकििम स्वास््य सुनवधा/पंिीकृि नचककत्सा व्यवसायी के पास िाएं। c. ग. यह गभडपाि की गोिी िहीं ह।ै d. घ. यह एचआईवी या ककसी भी यौि संचाटरि संक्रमण के नििाफ कोई सुरक्षा प्रदाि िहीं करिी ह।ै [फा. स.ं एक्स.11014/13/2026-डीआर] पुष्पेंद्र रािपतू , संयुक्त सजचव नोट: औषध जनयम, 1945 को सरकारी रािपत्र म ें अजधसूचना संख्या फा. 28-10/45एच (1), दिनांक 21 दिसंबर, 1945 के माध्यम से प्रकाजित दकया गया था और अंजतम बार अजधसूचना संख्या सा.का.जन.…..(अ), दिनांक.…… के माध्यम स े संिोजधत दकया गया था।[भाग II—खण् ड 3(i)] भारत का रािपत्र : असाधारण 3 MINISTRY OF HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE (Department of Health and Family Welfare)

NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 3rd September, 2026 G.S.R. 792(E).— The following draft of certain rules further to amend the Drugs Rules, 1945, which the Central Government proposes to make, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 12 and sub-

section (1) of section 33 of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 (23 of 1940), after consultation with the Drugs Technical Advisory Board is hereby published for information of all persons likely to be affected thereby, and notice is hereby given that the said draft rules shall be taken into consideration on or after the expiry of a period of thirty days from the date on which the copies of the Gazette of India containing these draft rules are made available to the public.

Objections and suggestions which may be received from any person within the period specified above will be considered by the Central Government.

Objections and suggestions, if any, may be addressed to the Under Secretary (Drugs), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, U-6, Work Hall- C Wing, First Floor, Kartavya Bhawan-1, New Delhi, 110001 or emailed at drugsdiv-mohfw@gov.in.

DRAFT RULES

1. (i) These rules may be called the Drugs (...... Amendment) Rules, 2026.

(ii) These rules shall come into force from the date as specified by the Government at the time of final publication of the rules in the Official Gazette.

2. In the Drugs Rules, 1945, in Schedule K under entry No. 15 and entries relating thereto, the following entry shall be inserted, namely: ― Class of Drugs Extent and Conditions of Exemptions After serial number 5, the following serial After the words “the provisions of Chapter IV of the Act

number and entry shall be inserted: - and the rules made thereunder which required them to

(6) be covered by a sale license” the following shall be Levonorgestrel Tablets 0.75mg/1.5mg inserted: -

(a) For Levonorgestrel Tablets 0.75mg/1.5mg, the following boxed warnings shall also be provided on

packaging as well as in the package insert:

Emergency contraceptive pill is only to be taken in emergency situations, not to be used as a regular contraceptive.

(b) Frequent use of the emergency contraceptive pill may lead to side effects. Visit the nearest health facility/Registered Medical Practitioner for regular contraception as soon as possible.

(c) It is not an abortion pill.
