NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 6th May, 2015
G.S.R. 364(E).—The draft rules to amend the Calcium Carbide Rules, 1987, which the Central
Government proposes to make in exercise of the powers conferred by section 4 of the Petroleum Act, 1934
(30 of 1934) is hereby published as required by sub-section (2) of section 29 of the said Act for information of
all persons likely to be affected thereby, and notice is hereby given that the said draft shall be taken into
consideration after the expiry of a period of forty-five days from the date on which the copies of this
notification is made available to the public;
Objections or suggestions received from any person with respect to the said draft before the expiry of
the aforesaid period will be considered by the Central Government.
Objections or suggestions, if any, may be sent to the Joint Secretary (Explosives), Department of
Industrial Policy and Promotion, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Room No. 259, Udyog Bhavan, New
Delhi – 110 011 or e-mail at singh.shailen@nic.in
Draft rules
1. (1) These rules may be called the Calcium Carbide (Amendment) Rules, 2015.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their final publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Calcium Carbide Rules, 1987, in the first Schedule, against Article number 2, in column 4
under the heading “Authority empowered to grant licence” for the existing entry, the following entry shall
be substituted, namely:-
“District Magistrate”.
